I proposed product innovation consultations, researched and wrote a competitive analysis of mobile visual design and UX trends in print and digital newspapers, magazines, and broadcast media sites.

PROCESS:
Prior to creating these native iPhone designs, I wrote a competitive landscape analysis overview with visual mood board documentation of the ways the media space presented content. I analyzed media sites and apps to see how different niche genres and news giants from traditional big names to upstarts presented their brands. I looked into designs by the classic print news brands New York Times and The Washington Post against more magazine-based media sources like Time Magasine and Business Week and in contrast to what more edgier then newcomers like Digg, FlipBoard, and Daily Beast were doing in the digital media space. There were interesting work I also looked at how broadcast news platforms that featured heavy amounts of video content like AP News, ABC News presented content. I took note of how other notable brands from National Geographic, Mashable, to Yahoo also presented their content in order to assess how Boston Globe might fit into this space and present its brand within these genres.View the Boston Globe Media Landscape Mood Board / Analysis artifact I authored.
