PROJECT OVERVIEW / CONTEXT:
Utimaco Software, a client of Nowspeed Marketing, offered such a wide variety of different hi-tech products that it was often confusing for users to be able to determine which products were best suited to their needs. Their target audiences included: large and small / medium enterprises, and government / education sectors. Our site redesign objective was to optimize the users' site navigation to discover the relevant content for their diverse needs and keep site users returning to the site for updates. My aim was also to present a look and feel that would convey expert knowledge of cutting-edge technology and polished corporate appeal yet warm and accessible.
NOTABLE FEATURES + ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
These designs represent various pages I designed and for which I also proposed the information architecture and user-experience. The design on the bottom right is the homepage design I proposed and the other three pages depict the solution portal, product portal, and product detail pages. My proposed designs reflect my hypothesis that site users may wish to access the content for these various objectives:
1) Details on Utimaco's existing flagship product(s);
2) Packaged suite recommendations for their specific company size or nonprofit/for profit needs;
3) Recommended products for specific service and technical requirements;
4) Suggestions for Bestsellers
5) Fresh content — product feature press releases, industry white papers, etc.

Thus, I presented different entry points to the content based on their objectives. I spearheaded the effort at Nowspeed Marketing to develop a more formal UX methodology based on best practices I learned while at consulting agency Extraprise.

PROCESS DETAILS:
I began the project first with an analysis of Utimaco's current website then and other discovery documents relevant to understanding their product lines and competitive environment. I created a sitemap representing my proposed sitemap strategy and UX wireframes illustrating information architecture and content strategy. After wireframes were approved, I designed the above visual designs for a series of pages.
Nowspeed Marketing tends to do A/B testing of our lead gen projects to ensure that the more user-friendly and appealing pages among the options we present clients prevails.
